There are several tips to keep in mind when preparing for an on-camera interview, whether it is your first time or even if you are a seasoned pro ready for the spotlight.
It is most important to know the angle of the story the reporter wants to capture. Ask questions of the reporter and make sure you feel comfortable before the taping begins or before you are live on air. Prepare message points and know what you need to convey during the interview to promote your product or industry.

A few highlights for some of our clients:
» Boyd Gaming recently opened new T.G.I. Friday’s restaurants at three of its Coast Casinos properties. Bill Boyd was on hand to participate in the official ribbon cutting ceremony at the Gold Coast in mid-October.
» Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada (CCCN) sponsored the 2nd Annual "Klip It For Kidz" event in October and raised more than $25,000 for the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation. Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman got involved and shaved the head of CCCN Executive Director James Kilber.
» Also in late-October, LM Construction Company held a fundraiser/rummage sale for Keeva Waite, an employee of the company, friend and stroke survivor. Nearly $4,500 was raised for Waite and her family and donations are still coming in!
» And a little advance notice for an event in 2009 - Las Vegas will be a flagship city for Earth Hour 2009 on Saturday, March 28. Coordinated by the World Wildlife Fund, tens of millions of people around the world will come together to make a bold statement about their concerns for climate change by doing something quite simple - turning off their lights for one hour. Several new employees joined The Firm in recent months—here is your opportunity to get to know them…
Tara Maras is a senior public relations specialist, bringing more than 10 years of experience to The Firm. She previously worked at University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where she developed and implemented strategic communication plans, and United Way of Southern Nevada, where she served as director of marketing and communications.
Tasha Davis is the office manager at The Firm. With a diverse management and administration background, Davis has lived in Las Vegas for 10 years, coming from Chicago where she studied film and video at Columbia College.
Also originally hailing from Chicago, BriAnna Gentuso is a public relations assistant. In addition to her full-time responsibilities at The Firm, she is currently working toward her bachelor’s degree in business at Nevada State College.

The Firm was recently honored with multiple Electronic Media Awards. Two of the individual awards were for garnering outstanding TV coverage of the Sullivan Square Groundbreaking and the golden Trump Tower letters being hoisted atop the new Strip property. Senior Public Relations Specialist Kevin Dunegan also received an award for "PR Manager of the Year."
The Firm's president Solveig Thorsrud was honored with a Pinnacle Award as "Principal of the Year" by the Las Vegas chapter of the Public Relations Society of America and The Firm also took home a Pinnacle Award for its work on the American Medical Response Annual Report.
